Our Mission at CGWA

The powers and purposes of the Association are those set forth in the Articles Of Association and those authorized by law. The objectives are as follows:

  1. The primary purpose of this Association shall be to serve its members as a trade association, which shall include active participation in the National Cotton Council'ss programs and policies and federal government affairs affecting the Association's membership.

  2. To develop and maintain for member handlers of cotton, a high standard of efficiency in storing, handling and distribution of such cotton resulting in the highest level of membership benefits.

  3. To foster the development of methods, equipment, machinery and attachments, along with operational expertise for the purpose of attaining the highest efficiency in the reduction of labor and equipment costs.

  4. To promote, develop and maintain a high standard of efficiency in connection with the services rendered by the member-handlers to all transportation agencies and to reduce to the minimum the transportation costs of handling cotton.

  5. To lend influence toward the promotion and development of a high standard of efficiency in the ginning, baling, covering, fiber quality preservation and overall preparation of cotton for market.

  6. To promote and to protect the commercial and industrial interests of the membership.
